Lloyd Roofing, a commercial and residential contractor serving Southwest Florida since 2017, has declared Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties as its charity of choice.
In doing so, the company will direct the majority of its philanthropic and volunteer initiatives to support the local nonprofit and its mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
“Lloyd Roofing has supported a variety of causes over the years, like housing, hunger and education, but we want to amplify our impact by concentrating our community outreach on a singular cause,” said Rast Bryant, general manager for Lloyd Roofing’s Southwest Florida division. “Part of our strategic vision as a company is to become champions for a local cause and give back to a community that supports us. We designated Habitat for Humanity as our charity of choice because homeownership is a dream that everyone wants to attain, and Habitat makes that dream come true for so many families in Lee and Hendry counties.”
On April 24, the company’s local leadership team volunteered on a Habitat jobsite in Lehigh Acres, where they installed waterproofing membranes and sheathing insulation on the exterior walls of a single-family home under construction. The team also installed flooring at a different home in Lee County during a recent Habitat Build Day.
Built on a foundation of faith, action and generosity, Habitat empowers local families as they achieve their housing and financial goals. Its partners include contractors, banks, residential communities, retailers and hundreds of generous individuals who are helping to address the critical need for affordable housing in Southwest Florida. Since 1982, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has built more than 1,900 homes, repaired over 390 homes and counseled more than 3,000 families.
Lloyd Roofing, which also serves Tallahassee and greater Orlando, is ranked among the Top 100 Roofing Contractors in America based on sales volume, according to Roofing Contractor magazine. About 65% of Lloyd Roofing’s work is commercial, a category that includes high-rises, office buildings, condominiums, hotels, churches, schools, hospitals, medical offices, multi-family apartments, retail centers and shopping plazas, government buildings, residential developments, senior living communities, warehouses and manufacturing facilities. The remaining 35% is residential, which includes single-family homes, townhomes and duplexes.
“Being in the construction industry, we recognize that many hard-working families are being squeezed out of the housing market,” said Lloyd Roofing President Travis Lloyd. “Habitat for Humanity brings affordable homeownership within reach, and we’re encouraging other contractors to step up to support Habitat and address the critical need for affordable housing in our community.”
